German-French double master's program (incoming)

Dear students,

You are wondering whether you would like to take part in the dual master degree in physics.

There are two different study plans for the dual master degree.

One possibility is that you study the M1 and M2 in Grenoble as usual and move to Karlsruhe for your master thesis. To do this, select a working group at KIT in which you would like to carry out the master thesis and apply to the head of this working group. Note, that the master thesis usually lasts two semesters. The courses you completed in Grenoble will be recognized in Karlsruhe. Since there is no specialized master degree in Karlsruhe, when choosing your courses in Grenoble you should make sure that there are experimental and theoretical courses and at least two different physical subjects are covered.

The second possibility is that you study the M1 Master in Grenoble and move to Karlsruhe for the M2. Since there is no specialized master in Karlsruhe, you must select the courses in Karlsruhe that correspond to your desired specialization. The master's thesis is then carried out in a working group at the KIT.

Since all master programs are offered in English and the language in working groups is usually English, you must complete a German course and then be able to prove language level C1.
